National Forest Militia Illustrated Book
   (Milizia Nazionale Forestale)

The Forestry Militia was an Italian unit arm of the Black Shirts devoted to forestry.
 -Book contains numerous photographs of this unit and the surrounding countryside.  
-This is a 10-year commemorative volume to celebrate the Forestry Militia’s accomplishments.
-Book was published around 1936–1937.
-Summarizes the first ten years of activity of the forestry militia since the
   March on Rome October, 1922.

-Minor soiling, no dust cover, minor binding issues.  Good condition.

Translation to book's introduction by Il Duce:
"A continuation of the arduous work undertaken to allow Italy to maintain its luscious woods that gave the Triremes (Roman warships) to Rome and to its maritime republics, and to resurrect the
green mantle of its woods on the mountains of the homeland, which will complete its imperial beauty".

Italian hand written facsimile note (as written):
“Bisogna piantare gli alberi a miliardi e rimboschire gli ettari a centinaia di migliaia –
È ai figli ed ai figli dei figli che noi dedichiamo questa nostra fatica.

Literal Translation:
" It is necessary to plant trees by the billions and reforest hectares by the hundreds of thousands –
It is to the children and to the children of the children that we dedicate this
our effort.”
